PRE PROCEDURE ADVICE & AFTERCARE
Restrictions to all treatments:
- Retinol/Retin-A must be discontinued at least 7 days before any procedure.
- Injections (Botox, fillers etc.) must be done at least 2-3 weeks before or 2-3 weeks after any procedure.
- Chemical peels and laser treatments can not be done within 4-6 weeks before and after the procedure.
- Sunburned or suntanned skin is damaged; therefore, it will cause excessive bleeding and poor colour retention. We can not work on sunburned or suntanned skin.
- You cannot expose the area to the sun 2-3 weeks before or 3-4 weeks after the procedure (use SPF 15-30).
- Do not schedule any procedures within one week of a holiday abroad due to sun/water exposure (high sun exposure countries)
- Avoid alcohol and caffeine 1-2 days prior to the procedure to minimise oozing, bleeding or swelling.
- Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen, Nurofen, ketanol etc. 1-2 days prior to the procedure to minimise bleeding (consult with your physician before stopping any prescribed medications or medical treatments).
LIPS
- If you have any history of herpes simplex (cold sores, fever blisters), you might want to contact your GP to obtain and take the prescription medication to help prevent such outbreaks for at least 4 days before and after the procedure. Medicine will not guarantee that outbreaks will not happen but might minimise the risk.
- Try to exfoliate and moisturise your lips regularly for a few days before the procedure, especially if you have them dry most of the time.
EYEBROWS
- Avoid threading, tweezing and waxing your brows 2-3 weeks before the procedure. This will allow us the most flexibility to achieve optimal results.
- Avoid regular henna tint for 2-3 weeks prior to the procedure.
- Avoid powder brows henna colouring for 4-6 weeks prior to the procedure.
- Avoid brow lamination for 4-6 weeks prior to the procedure.
- If you have any shape and colour in mind, bring a few reference photos (from our social media galleries) with you to your appointment.
- You may fill in your eyebrows as you usually would so we can consider the shape and colour you desire.
- Please be aware that we will remove your foundation and concealer to determine your true undertones. This is vital for us to choose the right colour.
EYELINER
- Lash extensions must be REMOVED COMPLETELY by a professional before your eyeliner procedure. If you have any lash extensions or glue leftovers, we will not be able to do your eyeliner.
- Do not wear contact lenses during or immediately following your eyeliner procedure (you might want to bring your glasses instead).
- The use of Latisse® or Lumigan® must be discontinued at least 3 months before your eyeliner procedure as they produce an inflammatory reaction in the skin, which causes excessive pain and bleeding.
- Do not use lash serums/conditioners such as RapidLash® or RevitaLash® for at least 1 month prior or 1 week after your eyeliner procedure as they bring a high risk of pigment migration.
On the evening of the first day (the day of the treatment), gently cleanse your eyebrows using Phi Wipes without stretching the skin. This way, the excess lymph is removed to prevent the formation of scabs. After the skin is clean and dry, apply a very thin layer of Phi Candy Balm provided.
For the next 6 days, you don’t need to clean your eyebrows because the lymph will not be coming out any longer (do not get them wet while washing the face or having a shower).
If you have dry skin, apply a very thin layer of Phi Candy Balm once a day.
If you have normal skin, apply a very thin layer of Phi Candy Balm one more time after 4-5 days (once the eyebrows start to itch and peel off).
If you have oily skin, you do not need to apply any cream.
IN THE FIRST 7 DAYS AVOID
- All creams (except the protective ones provided by a specialist) and any makeup in the eyebrow area.
- Exercise that causes excessive sweating, sauna, swimming pools and all facial treatments.
- Absolutely do not pick any scabs. Allow it to fall off naturally.
- Once the scabs fall off, the pigment colour will almost disappear and appear gradually during the first 2-3 weeks. Your brows may look up to 50% lighter.
IN THE FIRST 30 DAYS AVOID
- Sun tanning, sun beds, light (laser) therapy, chemical peels, fruit acids, microdermabrasion, creams that contain regeneration factors.
- You should always avoid laser treatments over the treated area during the healing period (Fraxel laser, IPL) because they can destroy the pigment and cause inflammation. Faster fading of pigment can happen if the clients use antibiotics or hormonal therapy.
- Always protect your eyebrows from the sun by using sun protection cream – minimum SPF 30 (but do not use it during the first 7 days).
DAY OF THE TREATMENT
During the first day (day of the treatment), gently, without rubbing, cleanse your lips with Phi Wipes or warm wet cotton pads every 3-4 hours. - Always keep in touch with the professional who performed the procedure and inform him/her about your skin condition in 1-3-day intervals.
- Use only the post procedure products provided by the specialist: soothing cream and anti-scar gel or other advised.
The basic special designation of the soothing cream is to soothe the scab and enhance healing. 48 hours after each procedure, apply a thin layer of this cream to the area that was treated during the procedure.
Apply the cream at least 2 or 3 times per day until the scab scales off and scab shedding is completed.
This may take 7 to 14 days or even more.
The anti-scar gel is applied after serious injuries, a surgical intervention when tissue scarring is expected, and scarring prevention. After initial scab shedding, a small amount of the gel is applied to the skin every 8 hours. It should be applied until the skin relief is restored, the redness disappears, and the skin colour in the area exposed to the procedure obtains the same colour as surrounding tissues, which might take several weeks.
