OUR PERMANENT MAKEUP TECHNIQUES

Below you can explore examples of our signature PMU techniques and styles. Every permanent makeup treatment is tailored individually depending on facial features, natural brow or lip shape, skin type, existing pigmentation and desired final result.

Permanent makeup is an artistic and highly personalised procedure, therefore no two sets of brows, lips or eyeliner will ever look exactly the same. The examples below are designed to guide you through different styles, techniques and levels of definition available during your consultation.

Ombre Brows

Ombre Brows are created using a machine shading technique designed to give the brows a more polished, defined and makeup-style finish. The fronts of the brows are kept softer and lighter, gradually blending into a more saturated arch and tail for a smooth ombre effect.

This treatment is perfect for clients who prefer a fuller, more structured brow with beautifully blended definition. Shape, colour and saturation are individually customised during consultation to suit your facial features, skin type and desired healed result.

Ideal for:
• Fuller makeup-effect brows
• Suitable for all skin types, including oily or combination skin
• Sparse or uneven brows
• Clients wanting a more defined healed result

Phi Sombre / Soft Powder Brows

Phi Sombre / Soft Powder Brows create a soft, elegant powder effect designed to mimic softly filled-in brow makeup without harsh edges. This technique focuses on smooth pixel shading for a lighter, airbrushed healed result.

Perfect for clients wanting natural-looking definition with soft transitions and beautifully balanced symmetry. The final result can be customised from ultra soft and subtle to slightly more defined depending on your preference.

Ideal for:
• Soft natural makeup lovers
• Clients wanting gentle definition
• Everyday effortless brows
• Suitable for all skin types, although results may fade faster on oily skin types

Phi Brows / Microblading

Phi Brows / Microblading is a manual hairstroke technique designed to recreate the appearance of natural eyebrow hairs. Fine, crisp strokes are implanted individually into the skin to create realistic texture, shape and fullness.

This treatment is best suited for clients with relatively good natural brow hair who want a natural enhancement rather than a makeup effect. Each brow design is individually mapped and tailored to facial proportions for the most flattering result.

Ideal for:
• Natural-looking brows
• Filling gaps and sparse areas
• Defining shape and symmetry
• Clients wanting realistic hairstroke effect

Please note: this treatment is not recommended for very oily skin types, as the hairstrokes may heal more blurred and fade faster over time.

The hairstrokes are customised in direction, thickness and density to blend naturally with your existing brow hair while creating fullness, texture and soft fluffy-looking modern brows.

Combo Brows

Combo Brows are currently one of the most popular brow techniques on the market. This treatment combines multiple PMU techniques within one set of brows to create a beautifully balanced and fully customised healed result.

Most commonly, soft hairstrokes or microblading strokes are created at the front of the brows, while the rest of the brow is blended with soft shading or ombre effect for additional fullness, depth and definition.

This technique allows us to combine the softness and realism of hairstrokes with the longer-lasting structure and density of machine shading, making the treatment suitable for almost every skin type and individual client preference.

Ideal for:
• Soft fluffy brows with additional definition
• Clients wanting both hairstrokes and shading
• Fuller but natural-looking healed brows
• Suitable for most skin types
• One of the most versatile and popular PMU brow techniques available

CHECK IF YOU CAN HAVE A TREATMENT

YOU ARE UNABLE TO HAVE A PERMANENT MAKEUP IF YOU ARE / HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING

  • Under the age of 18
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Viral infections or contagious diseases
  • Blood clotting disorders / haemophilia
  • Recent major heart conditions or organ transplants
  • Skin irritations, eczema, psoriasis, infections, or open wounds on the treatment area
  • Currently taking Accutane / Isotretinoin medication
  • Medically diagnosed keloid scarring
  • Severe hyperpigmentation disorders
  • Known allergy to pigments, numbing agents, or topical anaesthetics

YOU MAY STILL BE SUITABLE FOR PERMANENT  MAKEUP IF YOU ARE / HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING, BUT YOU WILL NEED MEDICAL CONSENT / DOCTOR APPROVAL

  • After stopping Accutane / Isotretinoin medication

Permanent Makeup treatments cannot be performed whilst taking Accutane / Isotretinoin medication. Treatment may only be considered after the medication has been discontinued for the recommended period advised by your doctor.

  • Topical steroids

Topical steroids may thin and weaken the skin. Depending on the condition and sensitivity of the skin, the treatment area may not be suitable for Permanent Makeup. Doctor approval may be required before proceeding with treatment.

  • Herpes Simplex / cold sores

Clients prone to cold sores or fever blisters may experience an outbreak following lip blush treatments. It is strongly recommended to consult your doctor or pharmacist before treatment regarding suitable antiviral medication before and after the procedure.

  • Diabetes

Diabetes may affect healing, circulation, skin recovery, and pigment retention. Healing may take longer and Permanent Makeup may heal unevenly or fade faster in some diabetic clients. If your diabetes is not well controlled, medical clearance from your GP or specialist may be required before proceeding with treatment.

  • Epilepsy

Certain medical conditions or medications may increase the risk of sensitivity, dizziness, or fainting during the procedure. Please discuss your condition with your doctor before booking treatment.

  • Medications and antibiotics

Certain medications and antibiotics may affect healing, recovery, and pigment retention following Permanent Makeup treatments.

  • Anticoagulants (blood thinners)

Long-term use of heparin, aspirin, ibuprofen, or certain herbal supplements may increase bleeding and bruising during the procedure, which can affect pigment implantation and healing results.

  • Autoimmune conditions (including cancer, HIV, etc.)

Certain autoimmune conditions and related medications may affect healing and pigment retention. Doctor approval may be required before proceeding with treatment.

  • Glaucoma

Eyeliner treatments may not be suitable for clients with glaucoma due to increased intraocular pressure and sensitivity around the eye area. Please consult your doctor before booking eyeliner treatments.

  • Vitiligo

There is a risk that the condition may spread or react following skin trauma. We cannot implant pigment into white depigmented areas; however, in some cases it may be possible to work around the area following full consultation and acceptance of the risks involved.

  • General health

Clients should attend appointments fit and well, and not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Excessive alcohol consumption before treatment may increase bleeding and negatively affect pigment retention and healing.

YOU MAY NEED TO WAIT BEFORE HAVING PERMANENT MAKEUP IF YOU’VE RECENTLY HAD ANY OF THE FOLLOWING

  • Eye surgery

If you have had LASIK, cornea repair, or other eye surgery procedures, you will need to wait at least 6 months before having Permanent Makeup treatments in the eye area.

  • Scars

Scars from surgery or injury must be fully healed for at least 12 months before treatment.

  • Skin conditions or irritations

Pimples, active cold sores, bruising, sunburn, infections, or other skin irritations in the treatment area must be fully healed before your procedure. If there are raised moles or skin lesions within the treatment area, they may need to be removed and fully healed beforehand if it is not possible to work around them safely.

  • Active Skincare & Aesthetic Treatments

Please avoid Retin-A, retinols, Accutane, and active aesthetic treatments (chemical peels, microneedling, dermal rollers, Botox, fillers, strong exfoliation etc.) for at least 3–4 weeks prior to your appointment and until healing is completed (approximately 4–6 weeks), as the skin may become more sensitive and prone to irritation.

Botox performed immediately before Permanent Makeup treatments may affect facial symmetry, muscle movement, and pigment placement. As Botox settles and later wears off, eyebrow or eyeliner positioning may slightly change. For best results, it is generally recommended to have Permanent Makeup performed before Botox treatments, or alternatively wait until your Botox is due for a top-up before having Permanent Makeup. Botox performed after Permanent Makeup treatments is usually not a problem once the skin has initially healed (generally once the first week of healing and scabbing is completed), as the injections are not placed directly into the treated skin itself.

If you currently have lip filler, it is generally recommended to wait 3–4 weeks until the filler has naturally settled before proceeding with lip blush treatments. For best results, lip blush treatments are ideally performed first, followed by filler treatments no sooner than 4–6 weeks after the Permanent Makeup procedure once healing is fully completed.

Please let us know if you have recently had, or are planning to have, Botox, fillers, or other aesthetic treatments around the same time as your Permanent Makeup appointment so we can help advise you regarding the most suitable timing and coordinate this with your aesthetic practitioner where necessary.

FAQ

A Patch test may be required before your treatment, depending on the procedure and your previous treatment history. If required, this must be completed at least 48 hours before your appointment.

Patch tests can either be:

  • posted to you,
  • arranged in clinic,
  • or completed during a separate consultation appointment.

For some treatments, we may also request photos before confirming the booking. If required, we will let you know how to send them via Consultation Form, email or Instagram.

Consultation Forms may be requested either before your appointment or completed on the day. If a form is required in advance, it will be sent to you via text message or email with instructions.

Please note that separate treatment areas (for example brows, lips or eyeliner) may require separate Patch tests.

Separate in-person consultations are optional and not mandatory before booking Permanent Makeup treatments.

Most clients book directly for the procedure itself, as shape mapping, colour selection, and technique choice are all included within the appointment on the day of the treatment.

There is also extensive information available throughout our website regarding treatments, healing, contraindications, aftercare, and expectations. We also have an extensive gallery of treatment results, videos, and photos available on our social media pages. If you only have a few questions before booking, you are welcome to contact us via Instagram, email, or send photos of the treatment area for initial advice regarding suitability.

Please note that we do not offer full consultations over the phone or via video calls.

If you are still unsure whether Permanent Makeup is suitable for you or would prefer to discuss everything in person before committing to treatment, you may book a separate consultation appointment via our online booking system. Please note that consultations are separate payable appointments and the consultation fee is not deducted from the treatment cost itself.

Consultation appointments and treatment appointments cannot be booked together on the same day if you are still undecided about proceeding with the treatment. Consultation appointments are separate payable appointments, while treatment bookings also require a separate booking deposit.

If you are confident you would like to proceed with the treatment, we recommend booking the treatment appointment directly.

Please arrive no earlier than 5–10 minutes before your appointment to allow enough time for using the bathroom, refreshments and settling before the treatment begins.

Some Permanent Makeup treatments may require additional preparation time before the actual appointment starts. For example, Lip Blush or Eyeliner procedures may require you to arrive approximately 15–20 minutes earlier for numbing cream application. During this time, you may simply be asked to relax in the waiting area before the treatment can begin on time.

Please avoid alcohol, excessive caffeine, energy drinks, sunbeds, fake tan and blood-thinning medication/supplements before your appointment where possible. Please also avoid taking painkillers before your appointment unless medically necessary, as certain medications may increase sensitivity, bleeding or make pigment implantation more difficult during the procedure.

For Eyebrow Treatments, please avoid brow tinting, brow lamination, henna brows or other brow treatments for approximately 3–4 weeks before your appointment.

For Eyeliner Treatments, please avoid lash tinting, lash lifts and lash extensions for approximately 3–4 weeks before your appointment. Lash growth serums or conditioners should ideally be discontinued 4–6 weeks prior to Eyeliner procedures.

If you are currently unwell, pregnant, breastfeeding, using prescription skincare products or recently had treatments performed in the same area, please contact us before booking or attending your appointment.

Yes. Certain skincare products and treatments may affect your skin sensitivity, healing process and pigment retention.

Please inform us before your appointment if you are using prescription skincare products such as Retinol, Retin-A, Tretinoin, Roaccutane/Accutane or strong exfoliating/acid-based products.

Chemical peels, microneedling, laser treatments, facials, injectables and other aesthetic procedures performed too close to your Permanent Makeup appointment may increase skin sensitivity and may require additional healing time before treatment can safely proceed.

Please also avoid applying active skincare products directly on the treatment area for several days before and after your appointment where possible.

If you are unsure whether your skincare routine or recent treatments may affect your appointment, please contact us before booking.

A non-refundable deposit is required to secure all appointments and bookings are not confirmed until the deposit has been received.

Please check our Terms and Conditions for full information regarding deposits, rescheduling and cancellation policies.

The remaining balance is due on the day of your appointment upon completion of the treatment.

Payments can be made by cash, card or bank transfer. We accept most major bank cards.

We also offer split payments via Klarna — please contact us directly for more information.

Please note that deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable in cases of late cancellations, missed appointments or change of mind.

Most clients are surprised by how comfortable permanent makeup treatments can be.

During brow treatments, many people describe the sensation as light scratching or tweezing rather than pain. Eyeliner treatments are often very comfortable and some clients even fall asleep during the procedure. Lips can feel slightly more sensitive due to the higher number of blood vessels and nerve endings, however most clients tolerate the treatment very well.

A topical anaesthetic cream is used throughout the procedure to keep you as comfortable as possible. Pain tolerance and sensitivity vary from person to person and can also depend on factors such as stress levels, caffeine intake, menstrual cycle and lack of sleep.

Please avoid alcohol, excessive caffeine and painkillers before your appointment, as these may increase sensitivity and bleeding during the treatment.

Permanent makeup usually lasts between 1–3 years. However, retention depends on the treatment area, skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, skincare routine, aftercare, and the density of the healed result. Softer, more natural enhancements usually fade faster than stronger or more defined results.

Eyebrows usually require the most maintenance and often need refreshing every 1–3 years. Oily and younger skin types typically fade faster, while mature, normal to dry skin often retains pigment significantly longer.

Lip blush treatments usually last longer than brows and, in many cases, may retain colour for several years before a refresh is needed.

Eyeliner permanent makeup tends to last the longest, as the skin in this area is very thin and darkest pigments are used. In some cases, eyeliner may never fully fade and can behave similarly to a traditional tattoo over time.

Oily skin types, frequent exfoliation, active skincare products, sunbeds and excessive sun exposure may also cause the pigment to fade more quickly. Some clients naturally retain pigment better than others.

Most clients choose to refresh their permanent makeup with a colour boost treatment once the pigment starts fading to maintain the shape and colour.

Please note that healed results and pigment retention can never be fully guaranteed, as every skin heals differently.

Yes — a touch-up appointment is highly recommended after your initial treatment. Permanent makeup is usually completed in two stages, as healed results can vary depending on skin type, lifestyle, aftercare, anatomy, and pigment retention.

The first session is usually performed more naturally and conservatively, especially for clients who never had permanent makeup before. It is always easier and safer to gradually build more intensity, colour, or definition later if needed.

During healing, it is normal to lose around 30–50% of the initial intensity. Fresh permanent makeup always appears darker and more saturated before the skin fully heals. Once healed, the result becomes softer and lighter.

Healed results are also influenced by skin anatomy. Thicker or lighter skin may heal softer, while thinner or darker skin may retain a more saturated result. Permanent makeup is implanted into the skin, so the healed pigment is always seen through the skin itself.

The touch-up appointment allows us to assess healing, reinforce colour, improve retention, adjust the shape if needed, and perfect the final healed result. Some clients may not need a touch-up at all, while others may require more than one.

Touch-ups are recommended within 4–12 weeks after the initial treatment and are charged separately.

Before every treatment, we discuss the desired shape, colour, style, and overall healed result. Measurements, facial symmetry, skin tone, natural features, and personal preferences are all taken into consideration before starting the procedure.

Different techniques and healed effects are available for brows, lips, and eyeliner treatments — from very soft and natural enhancements to more defined results. The most suitable technique will be recommended based on your skin type, anatomy, lifestyle, existing features, and expectations.

Pigments are selected individually for every client. We offer a wide range of brow, lip, and eyeliner shades, and colours can also be adjusted during future touch-up appointments if needed.

Please note that healed results will always appear softer, cooler, and lighter once fully healed compared to the fresh treatment.

Fresh eyebrow treatments usually appear darker, sharper, and more defined immediately after the procedure before softening significantly during healing.

Lip blush treatments may appear brighter during the first few days of healing before fading and softening considerably once healed.

The same applies to eyeliner treatments, which also heal softer and less intense once fully healed. Permanent eyeliner never heals like a deep black liquid liner. Healed eyeliner results usually appear softer, cooler, and slightly ashy once healed. On lighter skin tones, eyeliner may heal with a softer charcoal or slightly blue-ashy appearance, while on darker skin tones the healed result often appears deeper and closer to a soft pencil-black effect.

Please ensure you have read our eligibility check and contraindications information prior to booking. Certain medical conditions, medications, skin conditions, previous cosmetic procedures, or ongoing treatments may affect your suitability for permanent makeup or the healed results.

If you have any medical or health concerns, are pregnant or breastfeeding, prone to keloid scarring, undergoing medical treatment, recently had aesthetic procedures, or are taking prescription medication, please contact us before booking to discuss your treatment suitability.

In some cases, we may require additional healing time, GP approval, or may advise postponing the procedure for safety reasons.

Please also note that previous permanent makeup, scar tissue, old tattooing, asymmetry, or correction work may affect both the treatment process and healed results. Photos may be required before confirming your appointment.

Healing after permanent makeup is a gradual process and healed results will always appear softer, lighter, and more natural compared to the fresh treatment.

Immediately after the procedure, the treated area may appear darker, brighter, sharper, swollen, or more intense than expected. This is completely normal and part of the healing process. During the first few days, the skin may feel dry, tight, sensitive, or slightly uneven while healing.

Around days 4–10, light flaking, peeling, dryness, or patchiness may occur as the skin naturally renews itself. It is important not to pick, scratch, or remove any dry skin during this stage, as this may affect pigment retention and healed results. Aftercare products and detailed aftercare instructions will be provided on the day of your appointment together with guidance on how to use them correctly.

Once the surface healing is complete, the pigment may appear much lighter, faded, or slightly uneven for a short period of time after the flaking stage. This is commonly known as the “ghosting stage” and is a normal part of healing. Over the following weeks, the colour gradually settles and becomes more visible again as the skin fully heals underneath.

Initial surface healing usually takes around 7 days depending on the treatment area, while full healing and colour stabilisation may take up to 4–6 weeks.

Please note that every client heals differently, and healed results can vary depending on skin type, aftercare, lifestyle, immune response, medications, hormones, previous permanent makeup, and individual pigment retention.

For the first 7 days after your treatment (brows, lips, or eyeliner), please avoid excessive moisture, sweating, friction, and anything that may interfere with the healing process or pigment retention.

Avoid:
• swimming pools, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, and excessive heat
• gym workouts or activities causing heavy sweating
• sunbeds, direct sun exposure, and tanning
• makeup directly on the treated area (makeup around the area is fine)
• touching, rubbing, scratching, or picking the treated area
• facials, chemical peels, exfoliation, microneedling, laser treatments, or active skincare products on the treated area
• excessive water exposure during healing

For Eyebrow Treatments, please avoid brow tinting, brow lamination, brow lift procedures, brow serums, or similar treatments for approximately 4–6 weeks after your appointment.

For Lip Blush Treatments, during the first 7 days please avoid spicy foods, excessive friction, kissing, and strongly coloured foods or drinks (for example beetroot, berries, curry, or red wine), as these may permanently stain the healing skin. If you are prone to cold sores, antiviral medication may be recommended before and after your appointment — please speak to your pharmacist or GP for further advice.

For Eyeliner Treatments, during the first 7 days please avoid mascara, eye makeup, makeup removers, or any products directly on the treated area. Lash lifts, lash tinting, lash extensions, lash serums, or similar treatments should be avoided until fully healed (approximately 4–6 weeks). Contact lenses must be removed for the duration of the treatment; however, they can usually be reapplied immediately afterwards. Please ensure you bring an additional clean set with you to your appointment.

Healed results and pigment retention are strongly affected by proper aftercare. Following the recommended healing instructions carefully will help achieve the best possible healed result.

Yes — over time, permanent makeup will gradually fade and may change tone as the pigment naturally breaks down and ages within the skin. This is a normal part of the pigment ageing process.

How the colour changes over time depends on many factors including skin tone, skin thickness, oiliness, sun exposure, skincare routine, lifestyle, hormones, immune system response, previous treatments, and pigment retention.

Eyebrow Treatments usually become softer and more muted with time. Depending on the skin type and previous pigment saturation, brows may gradually fade either slightly cooler or warmer over the years. This is one of the reasons why regular colour boost appointments are recommended. In some cases, individual laser removal sessions may also be advised before refreshing or redoing older permanent makeup.

Lip blush treatments often lose brightness first and gradually soften into more natural nude tones over time.

Eyeliner Treatments usually retain colour the longest due to the thin skin in the eye area and the darker pigments used. However, as the pigment ages within the skin, eyeliner may gradually appear softer, more blurred, cooler, charcoal-like, or slightly ashy/blue — especially on lighter and cooler skin tones.

Regular colour boost appointments help maintain the desired tone, shape, and intensity over time.

Due to limited waiting space and the nature of the treatments performed within the clinic, we kindly ask clients to attend appointments alone where possible.

Only the therapist and the client are permitted within the treatment room during the procedure.

Please be aware that multiple treatments are carried out within the clinic simultaneously, including relaxing treatments such as facials, massage, aesthetic procedures, and permanent makeup treatments. To maintain a safe, calm, and professional clinic environment, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate children, babies, pets, or additional guests during appointments. Children also cannot be left unattended in the waiting area.

To help maintain a calm and comfortable environment for all clients, we kindly ask that phones are kept on low volume within the clinic premises.

Light refreshments and drinks are permitted; however, we kindly ask clients not to bring hot meals, fast food, or strong-smelling food into the clinic.

Appointment times vary depending on the treatment area, technique, previous permanent makeup, skin condition, and whether you are booking a new treatment, colour boost or touch-up appointment.

Some procedures may also require additional preparation time for numbing cream application before the treatment begins.

Approximate treatment times can be found directly within our online booking system when selecting your chosen appointment type.

Please note that all timings provided are approximate guidance only. Some procedures may take less time, while others may require additional time depending on the individual case and healed results assessed on the day of your appointment.
